At the Art Academy in Kampen, Maurice van der Bij discovered that animation was a good match for him, in the broad spectrum of what is called creativity. Together with Sylvia van Ommen, he founded Fruitcocktail. Maurice and Sylvia often work as a team. "It doesn't really matter what it is, I always do it with enthusiasm. Go for it with full speed. Embrace it, love it and see the beauty of all the stages of a project. I am an animator and used to live in Amsterdam, on the third floor. And now I spend mornings feeding the sheep, chickens and cat in southern Normandy. Where, together with Sylvia, I see the extent to which we can live self-sufficiently."
